PreciseMD 1.0.0 is the first general release of PreciseMD. PreciseMD converts PDF, image and Office documents into structured Markdown using on-premises OCR and vision models, for use by RAG pipelines and AI agents. The web interface serves operators; CLI, MCP and API clients reach the same backend service.

**Initial setup**

The first administrator account is created when the service is first opened.

**Playground**

Verifies OCR quality and prompt behaviour before a task is built.

- A workspace holds the trial files and every run made against them
- Files are uploaded to PreciseMD's local storage, so no storage connection is required
- A run applies the selected prompt and models to the selected files, and processing continues after the page is closed
- Every run is retained as a complete snapshot, and runs can be compared against each other

**OCR Tasks**

Processes folders in batches on a defined configuration.

- A task reads a source folder and writes Markdown to a target folder
- A schedule triggers processing automatically at the specified time
- Each execution is recorded with its per-file results

**Storage Connections**

Defines where source files are read and output is written.

- Remote NAS connections over SMB supply the folders that tasks reference; a task target folder requires write access
- The file browser lists folders and files, and supports uploading, creating folders and deleting
- A built-in local storage holds Playground data. It is browsable, but cannot be used as a task folder

**Model Connections**

Manages the OCR and vision model services.

- The models the application requires take the OCR or VLM role, configured on this page with a base URL, API key and model ID
- Default OCR and VLM connections are provided at deployment, and either role can be reassigned to another connection

**Agent**

Operates PreciseMD through natural language.

- The agent calls PreciseMD's own API, so its actions and the interface act on the same data
- Its scope covers storage connections, tasks, jobs, results, Playground, prompts, model connections, users and tokens
- Files attached to a conversation are processed directly
- Long-running work is monitored in the background and reported back on completion
- Thinking mode controls whether the model's reasoning is displayed

**User Management**

Controls who can use the service and how.

- Accounts are created by an administrator, with the Admin and Member roles determining access
- Disabling an account terminates its sessions immediately rather than waiting for credentials to expire
- Personal access tokens give CLI, MCP and API clients long-lived credentials under a user's identity
