ARGENT 1.0.0 is the first general release of ARGENT. ARGENT builds retrieval-based AI agents from documents held on the local network and serves them through a chat interface.

**Initial setup**

The first account is created when the application is opened for the first time, and administers the Admin Console. The Chat Agent front end and the Admin Console have separate sign-in pages, each providing a link to the other.

**AI Agent**

Creates and manages the agents available to users.

- An agent is defined by its name, description, welcome message, risk statement and up to five default questions
- The system prompt defines the agent's behaviour, with a prompt template provided as a starting point
- Each agent links to one or more file sources, which supply the content it answers from
- Access permission controls which users can reach the agent
- Agent details cover usage analysis, the indexed files, the settings, and a live interactive preview

**File Source**

Collects and processes the content that agents answer from.

- A file source reads a NAS folder or files uploaded directly, and converts the content for retrieval
- Supported formats: PDF, DOCX, TXT, PPTX, XLSX, JPG, PNG, MP3 and MP4
- A sync schedule re-reads a NAS folder on the specified days and time; files already processed are not processed again
- A manual sync runs processing immediately without affecting the schedule

**Model Connection**

Defines the model service that ARGENT uses.

- One connection supplies the language, reranker and embedding models, configured with a base URL and API key
- Changing the embedding model requires agent knowledge to be regenerated, and the interface states this at the point of change

**Chat Agent**

The interface end users work in.

- Users select an agent from the sidebar and converse within a session that retains context
- A completed answer provides the reasoning steps, the referenced files with downloads, quality feedback, copy, and the elapsed time
