# Desktop

> Sign in to ARX and work from the desktop — launch apps from their shortcuts, open an app's other services, and switch between running apps from the toolbar

## Overview

The Desktop is what you land on after signing in to ARX, much like a computer desktop.

Every installed AI app appears here as an icon. You can open an app, switch between the ones you have running, and use the toolbar to search or manage your own session.

## Signing in

Open the ARX address in a browser, enter your username and password, then click **Sign in**.

## Opening an app

Click a shortcut to launch its application. Most apps open embedded in the desktop; one that can't run embedded opens in a new browser tab instead.

## The right-click menu and other services

Right-click a shortcut for more ways to open it:

- **Open "{app name}"** — open it in the desktop
- **Open App in New Tab** — only for apps that support it
- **Other Services** — some apps expose more than one web interface, such as a console or a model settings page. The submenu lists each one, and only appears for apps that have them

## Toolbar

The toolbar stays available whatever you have open:

- **Account** — the person icon, for your account menu
- **Search** — the magnifier icon
- **Running apps** — one icon per open app. Click an icon to switch to that app
- **Clock** — the current time and date
- **The square at the far left (Show Desktop)** — hides the opened window so you can reach the desktop, and brings it back when you click it again

## Can't find the app you just installed?

Check in [App Market > My Applications](https://docs.ardge.com/en/guide/use-ai/app-market) that:

1. The app finished installing
2. Its status is **Enabled**
3. Then refresh the desktop or sign in again
