# App Market

> Install a generative AI application in one click — pick its recommended models, set up storage if the app supports it, then manage it from My Applications

## Overview

Think of App Market as the App Store for ARX.

**The AI model is the engine; the app is the tool you actually work with.** ARGENT builds AI agents, PreciseMD parses documents, ScribeSTT turns recordings into text.

**Pick an app → pick the models it needs → pick storage / NAS if asked → Install → open it from My Applications**

## Step 1: Pick an app in Explore

**Explore** lists every available app. Click a card to open its details page for what it does, screenshots, and the developer, version and release date.

Click **Install** to start the installation.

## Step 2: Choose the models

The wizard lists the model profiles the app declares. A profile may hold more than one model — a knowledge management app, for example, needs an LLM, an embedding model and a reranker together. The number tag on a card is the model count; hover it to see all models.

The first time, take the recommended set.

If you hit an error, follow the message below the card to clear it before the app download can continue:

- **Insufficient VRAM** — stop a running model instance in [AI Model Center](https://docs.ardge.com/en/guide/use-ai/ai-model-center) to free some up
- **Insufficient storage** — delete a model you no longer need in AI Model Center
- **A gated model** — accept the model's terms on Hugging Face and save a token with read access in AI Model Center settings. See [Register a Hugging Face account and get an access token](https://docs.ardge.com/en/knowledge/arx-os/huggingface-token)

## Step 3: Set up storage (if the app supports it)

Apps that can use external storage will show a storage step with two sections:

- **App Storage Expansion / Application Data Storage** — where the app keeps the media files it generates. Defaults to **ARX local storage**; pick a mounted remote mount point instead to keep large output off the device
- **External File Source / Files Source Folder** — optional. Point the app at an existing folder on remote storage to use as a data source

Both lists only offer mount points that are already mounted. If your company's documents already live on a NAS, set up a mount point in [Storage Manager](https://docs.ardge.com/en/guide/connect-your-data/storage-manager) first — see [Mount remote storage for an application in Storage Manager](https://docs.ardge.com/en/knowledge/arx-os/mount-remote-storage).

Click **Install** to download and deploy the app together with the models you picked.

<note>

Not every app shows both steps. An app with no external storage support goes straight from the models to **Install**, and an app with no recommended models opens on the storage settings alone.

</note>

## Step 4: Manage the app in My Applications

**My Applications** lists everything you've installed. Each app supports four actions:

- **Enable** — start the app
- **Disable** — stop it without removing it, freeing the resources it holds. Its data stays on the device
- **Update** — install a newer version
- **Uninstall** — remove the app from the device

<caution>

**Uninstall permanently deletes the app's data.** Check whether you need a backup first.

## Where to go once it's installed

An installed and enabled app appears on the [Desktop](https://docs.ardge.com/en/guide/use-ai/desktop). Click its icon to start using it.
