# System Monitor

> See what the device's GPU, CPU, network and drives are doing right now, and find which process is consuming them

## Overview

When ARX feels slow, the GPU looks full, an app is responding badly, or you just want to know how much is in use, look at System Monitor.

It gives you two views:

- **System Resource** — the whole ARX: GPU, CPU, memory, network and storage
- **Process Monitor** — which app or service is consuming it

**Find the resource that's full → then find the service using it**

## System Resource

Four cards, all refreshing every second:

- **GPU** — one row per installed card, with its name, GPU usage, VRAM usage and temperature. If AI inference suddenly slows down, check first whether a GPU has been sitting near capacity
- **CPU** — processor usage, memory usage and current clock frequency
- **Network** — total download and upload across every interface, plotted on a live chart, plus per-interface throughput and link status. A green dot means the interface is connected
- **Storage** — one row per drive, with used and total capacity, how full it is as a percentage, and the drive temperature

<tip>

The VRAM figure here is what the models are actually using right now. That's a different number from the VRAM the system has reserved for them, which decides whether a new deployment fits — see [What does GPU VRAM Allocated mean?](https://docs.ardge.com/en/knowledge/arx-os/gpu-vram-allocated)

## Process Monitor

When a resource is under pressure, this is where you find out what's using it. The page lists the 20 services consuming the most, each with its CPU usage, the memory it holds, and its GPU and VRAM usage. The list refreshes every 10 seconds.

## Reading the common cases

- GPU high while an AI app is processing heavily → probably just a normal workload
- GPU or VRAM near capacity for a long stretch and responses slowing → check whether too many models are running at once
- Storage nearly full → go to [Storage Manager](https://docs.ardge.com/en/guide/connect-your-data/storage-manager)
- Network behaving oddly → go to [Network](https://docs.ardge.com/en/guide/manage-arx/network) or check the physical link
- No idea when it started → pair this with [Log Center](https://docs.ardge.com/en/guide/monitor-and-troubleshoot/log-center) to find the moment
