# Notification

> Send email alerts for system events, and choose the recipients and the events they are notified about

## Overview

Notification means you don't have to keep watching ARX.

When something you care about happens, ARX emails the people you name — IT administrators, or whoever owns the system.

**Set the sender → set the recipients → pick the events → send a test → turn it on**

## Step 1: Set the sender

Configure the sender address and the mail server the system sends notifications through.

When that's done, use **Send Test Email** to confirm ARX can actually send mail.

## Step 2: Set the recipients

Add the people who genuinely need to receive system events — IT administrators, the ARX Owner, or whoever runs operations.

<tip>

Don't send every event to a long list of people. That's how alerts start getting ignored.

</tip>

## Step 3: Pick the events to notify on

Only pick events that need someone to act, or that are worth tracking.

## Once it's set up

Send one more test email and confirm the recipients actually received it. Then you're running.
